Episode 20 – Driver Inc Isn’t The Problem

Episode 20 – Driver Inc Isn’t The Problem

What is Driver Inc?

The Driver Inc model is a system where a truck driver who does not own/lease their own truck becomes incorporated and sells their driving services to a carrier which allows the driver to opt out of paying certain taxes like CPP and EI.

Some argue that this model is illegal, while others call it a tax scheme.

Trucking Associations and Carriers are banding together to get this model shut down, stating that the Driver Inc model is causing financial harm.

In this video Robert talks about a very unpopular opinion that indicates some of these carriers may be causing financial harm to themselves through choices they make in their companies that have very little to do with the Driver Inc model.
